The library sends a Courtesy Notice to library patrons when their checked out items are about to be due. Patrons can check their library account online to see due dates. The library also sends an Overdue Notice to patrons after checked out items are overdue. Once items are 60 days overdue, the library considers items “Lost.” Lost books are fined at $100 per item.
The library also charges when items are damaged. The cost is decided on by the Head of User Services.
Library charges are processed by the Bursar’s Office. At this point, the library does not accept in-person or online payments.
The library accepts replacements of items. Please contact the Head of User Services for permission if you would like to replace an item instead of paying for its replacement.
Appeals
The library considers billing to be nonrefundable. However, patrons may appeal charges. Library staff and the Head of User Services will review appeals. Patrons will receive an email with information about with their decision.
