Facilities

Facilities maintains the wellbeing of library users and the safeguarding of the libraries’ collections. The office is operational during the hours the library is open. Enforcement and emergencies may be coordinated with the NIU Department of Police and Public Safety.

Facilities' staff regularly circulate through the building. They are ready to assist with:

• Emergency needs 
• First aid 
• Lost and found 
• Harassment issues 
• Monitoring security gates

Facilities' staff are responsible for enforcing the following library policies:

• Code of Conduct
• Theft, Mutilation or Destruction of Library Property
