Laptop Checkout (August through May)

A limited number of laptops and power cords are available for checkout to NIU students on a first-come, first-serve basis at the Circulation Desk in Founders Memorial Library and in the Music Library. You need a valid OneCard to check out and to return laptops. Please ask for assistance at the Circulation Desk or Research Help Desk.

Loan Periods

• 3 weeks (1 renewal)
• 24 hours

Check My Library Account for due dates after checking out your laptop. Fees will be assessed for late returns, and for any laptop reported lost, damaged, or stolen. Please see the Laptop Checkout Policy for details.

Additional Loanable Technology

• DVD Players (3-day loan)
• Scientific Calculators (3-day loan)
• Headphones (3-day loan)

Collaboration Stations

What is it? Connect your device to a large 40” monitor to display your screen and work with colleagues. HDMI, VGA or DisplayPort cables are available to check out at the Welcome Desk on the 1st floor of Founders Memorial Library.

Locations: 2nd and 3rd floors of Founders Memorial Library.

Selfcheck Kiosks

What is it? Use your OneCard to checkout physical items from the library.

Location: First floor of Founders Memorial Library near the Circulation desk.
