Five collaboration stations are available for use by the NIU community on the 2nd and 3rd Floors of Founders Memorial Library. They are made up of a large table, three chairs and a large (40") monitor equipped with a variety of ways (HDMI, VGA and DisplayPort) to connect it to laptop computers or mobile devices. Users connecting a device to the monitor may immediately display the contents of its screen on the monitor so that others seated at the table more view it more readily and in a larger format. They may easily display multiple devices on the screen in turn by simply unplugging one and plugging in another. The stations also provide electrical access for the charging of laptops and/or other devices. Connector cables are available for check out at the Welcome Desk on the 1st Floor.
Laptop Checkout
A limited number of laptops and power cords are available for checkout to NIU students on a first-come, first-serve basis at the Circulation Desk in Founders Memorial Library and in the Music Library. You need a valid OneCard to check out and to return laptops. Please ask for assistance at the Circulation Desk or Research Help Desk.

Fees will be assessed for late returns, and for any for laptop reported lost, damaged, or stolen. Please see the Laptop Checkout Policy for details.
Selfcheck Kiosks
Two kiosks located near the Circulation Desk on the first floor of Founders Memorial Library are available for use by the NIU community to check out requestable physical items. You need a valid OneCard to check out items.
Charging Lockers
A charging cabinet is available for use on the first floor of Founders Memorial Library, across from the Circulation Desk. The cabinet provides a secure place in which to leave your device(s) unattended to charge. Set your own personal combination to lock and later re-open an individual locker bay. A single locker bay can accommodate up to 3 devices. You must provide your own power cord(s). Please follow the instructions on the cabinet, or ask for assistance at the Circulation Desk or Research Help Desk.
Charging Stations
Founders Memorial Library currently has one charging station located next to the Research Help Desk on the first floor. Charging stations have generic power cords that fit a variety of Apple and Android devices. The University Libraries is not responsible for damage or theft to your device. Please do not leave your device unattended!
