Electronic Journal Subscriptions
Jun 6, 2019: As part of the University Libraries’ ongoing efforts to maintain access to journal content, despite journal inflation and flat library budgets, those high cost journals with relatively low article downloads will be switched to article-level access through Get It Now and interlibrary loan. The criteria being used are the same which we communicated to faculty in 2016, and which generated significant savings, allowing the libraries to continue more heavily used subscriptions and monograph purchases. That is to say, titles for which the annual subscription cost equates to $50 or more per article (three year average) are being moved to more cost effective access models as noted above. A list of journals included in this category, along with their usage cost, is available for download. Please feel free to direct any questions to your subject specialist librarians.
